Text Translation In Stories
When you click that option, the translation of the text will then pop up on your screen. Instagram supports 90 languages. A similar option is also available for news feeds, user profiles, and comments.
Instagram Expands Data Tracking Period
Black-owned Business Label
To do this, go to Edit Profile > Business Diversity Info > Get Started > then click on Black-owned Business Label.
Collab Feature For Reels
This feature allows users to invite each other as a collaborator on the post or reel. Once the other user accepts the invitation, both account names will appear in the post or reel header. The new content will appear on both their profile grids, will get shared on both their followers and receive a shared view count with the same number of likes and comments.
Instagram Introduces Measures To Protect Users And Tests New Features
Teen Protection
In response, Instagram introduces the following limits to help protect young users of the social media app.
A private account gets enabled by default for all users under 16 who sign-up on the platform.
Adults will not be allowed to contact teens who do not want to hear from them.
Instagram and Facebook also limit advertisers that can reach young people on both platforms.
Instagram Ads in Shop Tabs
These ads can be a single image or a carousel. When users click on the ads, they will get redirected to a product page and get more details to make a purchase.
Protection Against Offensive And Harassing Messages
To enable the Limits option, go to Settings > Privacy >Limits. You will then get the option to select which group you like to limit and for how long.
For direct messages, you have the option to filter offensive words, phrases, and emojis and redirect them to a “hidden” folder. You can do this by going to Settings > Privacy > Hidden Words. You will then find a list that Instagram considers offensive. You may choose from this list or add words or phrases of your choice.
Audio Tab For Reels
Once you tap a song, you can use a 30-second sequence of that track on your Reels. You can also save songs for later use.
Instagram Rolls Out Map Search, Swipe Up Links, And Montage
Map Search
Aside from the location, you can also now find more information about the business, including product prices, services, and even public posts from people who check in on the location.
You can find the map search feature on the explore page.
Montage
Instagram is developing a new feature that should allow users to turn their stories into Instagram Reels. This new feature is called “montage” and is still getting tested internally. This option will help users create reels by merging elements from Instagram stories’ frames.
Instagram Retires The Swipe-up Option
Instagram is finally saying goodbye to its popular swipe-up option and replacing it with link stickers. In the past, only verified users or those with 10K followers or up could use the swipe-up option.
Now, the platform is making Link stickers available to everyone, regardless of their follower count. Those who repeatedly violate community guidelines and share misinformation and hate speech will lose access to the feature.
When users tap the link stickers, they will get redirected to an external webpage. It’s a great way to drive traffic to your website.
